Tourists, Spies, and Science Fiction

Amvona Blog       16 Jul, 2009 | by

We've all seen those crazy tourists with their flamboyant fanny packs. And don't forget about those high-tech cameras hung haphazardly around their necks. Beware, if you approach a tourist, prepare to be blinded by a flash whose brightness is rivaled only by the sun itself. For those of you who are less than thrilled with packs of people roaming all over your town, we have good news. The ultimate evil that is the tourist crowd may have just met its match.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has just come up with a new idea that could permanently change the way that tourists (and normal people) think about photography. To refresh your memory, MIT is most frequently responsible for all those science fiction fantasies that plague your dreams. So when they introduced the camera-in the cloth idea, we were initially a little freaked. The clothing is the camera. What kind of evil genius even thinks of something like that? Maybe they'll win that Lemelson Prize after all.

So we've got some questions we need answered. How much would those designer duds cost? What will happen to all those obsolete fanny packs? Is it itchy? Can we wash it?

These are important questions. I mean, today's deal, the Elite Solid Muslin in Redrock. is 100% machine washable. If we tried that with MIT's camera cloth, would we have an epic fail on our hands? Couldn't things could get ugly if we assume its machine washable, and end up turning it into a multi-million dollar well-washed machine? (Further proof that you should probably read those itchy care tags on your apparel.)

As for the Redrock Muslin model, you never know, she could be from MIT. Or she could be a spy. (What exactly is the difference again?)We hear those spies have got camcorder pens and pins and whatnot. And those pocket protector wearing MIT people...who would suspect them? I mean, just look at that high quality 100% cotton seamless muslin she's wearing. Either that's quite a draft, or she's up to something.

Oh man. Those MIT people...they've got us questioning reality again.
