I am a photographer and a photography writer and through this trait I meet several interesting people and have been fortunate to work on several inspiring projects. But I have never come across anything as special as YPI KIDS. Have you ever wondered about the point where your profession becomes passion? Or when photography become more than just photography? That happens, and it has probably happened to all of us - an image that we shot meant so much to someone else. The point where a photograph becomes an object of endearment is the point when photography becomes more than just photography, more than a profession or an art, it becomes an important factor in someone's life. In my previous article about YPI KIDS I gave a brief introduction of what they did. Moving forward, this article will analyze the projects sponsored by YPI KIDS to enable kids "at-risk" or suffering from cancer photograph precious moments.

This is part 2 of the 3 part interview series with Photographer William Clayton. We have been browsing the digital archives of William's work on his website and we are truly amazed by the beautifully photographed landscapes, by the unique compositions and the vivid colors. His photographs depict the story of his travels. It's almost like flipping through a classic English novel. They show us the intricacy and detail in places like St. Peter's.  After being totally mesmerized by his photographs we asked William what equipment he used.

ColoRotate - now isn't that a cool name? The plug-in itself is cooler. This new plug-in makes Photoshop even more exciting. It's for Adobe Photoshop CS 4 and allows users to use color in multiple dimensions. Basically, it is a 3 dimensional color picker and editor that works with Photoshop, it will let you perceive and project colors in the same way that our brain does. With this plug-in you can work 'with colors in 3D, in real-time, and in a way that matches how our minds process color'.

In our article, "Lady Gaga & Polaroid - a match made in heaven?" we mentioned that Polaroid films were available again through a group called 'The Impossible Project.' Where this information is true 'the impossible project' brought to our attention that we had accidentally stated that they were from Denmark. We apologize for the mistake and would like to inform our readers that 'the impossible project' is actually run through Enschede in The Netherlands.  The mistake has been corrected in the article and we will be providing our readers with more information on their project soon.

We told you the story of José Luis Rodriguez and the storybook wolf   - How the photographers award was revoked after he won the 2009 contest. We feel that the judges should have checked properly before they made their decision and we sympathize with the photographer. However, the prestigious Natural History Museum Wildlife Photographer of the Year Award 2010 is now open for entries. Apply now and maybe you could be the winner of 10,00 GBP (approximately $16,600) and be featured in the Museums galleries and brochures.

We have all heard the expression that "a photograph is worth a thousand words". But have you ever wondered when exactly is a photograph worth a thousand words? Is it when you take a photo of a kid and a mother cherishes it for life? Is it when you photograph a wedding and give someone beautiful memories? Is it when a journalist photographs dying people in a war? Or is it something that gets printed in National Geographic? In my mind the answer to this is that it's any photograph that touches your soul and speaks out to you - a photograph that is meaningful and you can form a connection with. YPI KIDS or Young Photographers Initiative is a therapeutic photography program that enables children who are at "at-risk" or suffering from cancer live their dreams through the magic of photography.
