Remember K'Nex? That collection of sticks and connectors that thrilled young aspiring engineers everywhere? Well before you sell your old set in the yardsale, give this DIY lightbox a try.
The project is the brain child of Kristin Bohem of spinhandspun designs. Kristen works to connect technology and humanity through art with knitted cases and signs. In a recent entry she decided take a whack at making a light box.
All you need is a handful of K'Nex (a shopping list of specific parts is available on the site), lighting, a sewing machine, white fabric, eyelets, a rubber hammer, measuring tape, scissors and a pencil. At this point you may want to check if the One Deal is a light box as it may save you some money. But if you're game for an arts and crafts challenge, forge on!
In the end, you are left with what looks to be an effective light box. Not to mention that it looks sweet. Any hey, if it doesn't work well enough to make it into your light box collection, you can always just use it as a lamp.
