Today the senate decided to cut $1.75 billion set aside in the defense budget to build seven new F-22’s … and Goose died all over again. Granted, Top Gun was long before the time of the 22’s but hey.
Ronald Dejarnett, a sonar technician with the Navy, managed to snap the great shot below of the big bird in question on the verge of a sonic boom. The picture was taken in the Gulf of Alaska on a Nikon D90 and edited using Photoshop CS2 (aka old school).
