So, moments after posting the last blog raving about how cool kite aerial photography technology is, I came across this baby. Let's just say, I'm ready to trade up to the AeriCam.
The AeriCam is a remote controlled mini-helicopter and brain child of fashion photographer Jason Lam . It made one of its first appearances at the PhotoPlus expo in New York City last weekend.
Perhaps the biggest claim to fame for this everyman spy tool is that it carries up to 7 pounds. That means that if you have a DSLR that is roughly Nikon D3s sized or smaller, lift off is a go!
The whole unit is 30 pounds, and takes two people to operate. One controls the copter, and one for the camera. If you're really nimble, though, you can do it alone. Take a look at this footage from the AeriCam below.

So what does it take for you to own one of these marvelous toys? Oh just $9,000... some assembly required. Maybe I should start a AeroCam Dream Web site. I could sell all my old K'nex to make money.
