Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Editor and Publisher is now accepting entries for their 10th annual News Photo of the Year contest!

One of the leadering sources in journalism industry news is ready to make one lucky photojournalist a legend. The winner's photo will be featured on the cover of E&P. 

In addition to the traditional categories: News, Sports, Feature and Photo Essay there are four new areas that look like they may be inspired by the recession. Contestants can now compete in Unpublished Photos on Assignment, Portraits, News Sites Photos (which is available only to papers that are solely online), and video or multimedia. The question remains, how will E&P publish a video on their front cover? 

The winners from last year are excellent  examples in the field of photojournalism. You should take a look. I think the shot by William Wilson Lewis III in the News category is especially powerful.

The deadline is September 14, so get your entries in. This is a tremendous opportunity  for all you photojournalist types... so start scrutinizing your selects!
